Filming
Filming is over! It went well but here is a list of the problems I faced and the things that went well-
Sapien actors dropping out day before so I had to get more on short notice
Went over budget- but that was bound to happen
More helpers like a first AD would have been useful
Time- an extra day to film would have eased the pressure
Being more authoritive when directing large groups would have saved time
Shot list, more useful and quicker done in order of takes we were going to do not in order of script
Working with professionals and crew I didn’t know was a new experience for me
Weather conditions- it was very cold and had been snowing some of the mornings so not fun for the sapiens when they had to stand in a wet field with leotards on
It got dark early cutting our filming days short
Would have been good to have more behind the scenes photos
I kept as organised as I could
Got it all filmed in time
Costumes worked well
We were respectful of the location
Actors were helpful and thought about continuity and helped out where they could with script etc.
Making the room look night in day and visa versa looked realistic
The crew and actors all worked well together
Main characters really helped bring the story to life
Had good equipment including a Red MX camera
Time management, even though it was a tight schdule we got it all done
Sound mic didn’t pick wind up too much even though it was very windy
Nothing went wrong with equipment and had everything and more that we needed
All the research paid off
